ABOUT US

My name is Darko Zivanovic. I am breeding American Staffordshire Terriers since 1989. “Long Step” kennel is located north of Belgrade at Padinska Skela at about twenty minutes drive from the city. I have chosen to breed American Staffordshire Terriers mainly because of their temperament. I like their devotion to mankind and good behavior with children.

They are noble dogs that at the first look, to some, appear frightful but as soon as one gets to know them a little better that opinion changes drastically. Their devotion to their master has no bounds. They are obedient without fault and endlessly loyal, almost the perfect dog.

Name that I have chosen for kennel, the “Long Step”, bears many symbols in it. Choosing it I did not aim to point at the graceful motion of my dogs I was rather aiming at the really big step that I have made in chinology. In all the years of work with American Staffordshire Terriers I have gone all the way from the rank beginner to a recognized breeder, this being the true symbol embedded in the name.

My first American Staffordshire Terrier was a female named Mema Atila, offspring of Jaspar Anaconda Staff. The base of the breed today was Backwoods Fly now six years old female that by its bloodline is “Sierra”, the blood line that I believe most while, my dogs are also of “Wood`s” and “Fraja” lineage.

Many dogs have come out of “Long Step” kennel and have achieved exceptional results at exhibitions in Serbia as well as in Europe. At the European exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, young male, Lari Long Step, owned by Miloje Cirovic “King of the Rings” wins at the top of twenty five dogs taking the title of European junior Champion, thus being the first male in the history of Serbia and Montenegro chinology to achieve the title.

At the European exhibition in Tulln, Austria, in 2005, male White Head Long Step, owned by Miloje Nikolic “Builder’s Best” from Valjevo wins at the top of twenty one dogs and takes first place (V-1) in intermediate class.

Confirmation of success of my work as breeder are also the winnings of the first place in years 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 at the competitions of breeder groups and best couple 2007. at the prestigious Specialty Club exhibitions.

I have to thank family Nikolic from Valjevo then to Mr. Cirovic from Belgrade as well to my own family for the trust they had in me and my dogs and have taken the name of “Long Step” kennel throughout the Europe and the World; hence I am continuing in taking Long Step farther.
